Lonely Hearts Club – How to get involved

Hi,

So, we see you are interested in the Lonely-Hearts Club challenge! This page will highlight some core content and ways you can get involved to support ideas for the challenge. Starting from what the Lonely-Hearts Club challenge is, a list of activities, events and courses we are currently running to help you develop your project challenge.

What is the challenge?

In case you have stumbled across this page and have no idea what the lonely-Hearts Club challenge is, or you need a refresher, we are looking for students to get yourselves into groups and work collaboratively to consider the following brief:

“Think about loneliness and develop responses to the problem outlined below”

This challenge offers a creative brief, looking at how we can tackle loneliness through positive Wellbeing, Connectivity, Community and more. In your collaborative groups, begin to approach this challenge with creativity, explore loneliness with openness to begin minimising stigma.

What we are looking for…

We are looking to see interesting ideas, exploration of the contexts and your curiosity followed, not perfect answers or world problems solved. This is an opportunity for you to playfully approach real world situations, while learning in a group and getting creative.

To find out more about the challenge and its background, purpose and what we are wanting from you, please have a look at the following link below

There are more than 82 million forcibly displaced people in the world; over 20 million of whom have refugee status. Conflict, persecution and a well founded fear for their lives are some of the reasons why people leave their homes and countries. These people are looking for somewhere safe to rebuild their lives and start a new life free from persecution or threat. This self-study pack will explore the myriad of reasons why people leave, look at the journey they must undertake to find safety and unpack the challenges and barriers they face at different stages.
