Sunday 10th October is World Mental Health Day a global day for international mental health education.
To mark the day, we’d like to encourage as many students as possible to develop a deeper understanding of the principles surrounding wellbeing – using our self-study Understanding Wellbeing Skills Package. Authored by practitioner Laura Hamilton, it will enable you to develop skills and strategies to support your own, and others’, wellbeing.
You will explore mental health and wellbeing in different contexts, including professional and workplace settings and will have the opportunity to critically reflect on current thinking and approaches. You will also examine health inequalities and issues of discrimination, diversity and equality in the wellbeing arena.
The course is completely flexible and can be studied at your own pace – and on completion you’ll be awarded with 40 Rise Points.
In addition, there is a whole range of other activities and events taking place in Rise, across the university and beyond into the city. We’ve collated some of these below; and remember, if they don’t award Rise points directly, you can claim them yourself using our Independent Experience process.
