• Introduction

The Manchester City of Lifelong Learning project brings free learning and skills our Skills for Life themes to people across the city – online and in the community.

Led by Manchester Met, in partnership with UNESCO and Manchester City Council, the project supports residents to learn, grow, connect and achieve, at any age and from any starting point. From short courses to hands‑on workshops, you can explore new ideas, gain skills and earn recognition for what you learn.

This is lifelong learning that fits real lives in a real city.

    The six key skills are:

    • Communication
    • Problem Solving
    • Self-belief (including positive outlook, resilience and motivation)
    • Self-management (including accountability, organisation and initiative)
    • Teamwork
