Goal 13 Climate Action is one of the broadest and wide-reaching of the Goals. Here we look at some of the steps being taken to try and reduce the impacts of transportation around Manchester, especially at Manchester Airport.
Chris Paling is a researcher at MMU with over 16 years experience in aviation and the environment. He has worked at Manchester Airport, responsible for climate change, local air quality and environmental management. His research interests include the sustainability assessment of biojet and airport climate change adaptation. He is currently working on a project with Airbus, and a number of other international industry partners, to investigate the sustainability of second generation aircraft biofuels being grown in Romania and India.
