Small Space Gardening Design Challenge with the Cloud Gardener and RHS Urban Show

23rd February to 21st April
Be part of an exciting project team designing and building a balcony garden for the Royal Horticultural Society Urban Show! Transform the urban environment with your creation and bring the city to life!

This project gives you the opportunity to get hands-on experience transforming urban small spaces with the creation of a balcony garden, You and your team will design the space, select the plants, build your garden and showcase your creation at the Royal Horticulture Urban Garden Show in the Mayfair Depot.

To build a really impactful garden this project needs students from all subjects, we need designers, architects, artists, biologists, experts on place and space, mental health advocates and anything else! All you need is a passion to create a sustainable space on a balcony!

You will be supported in achieving all this by the Cloud Gardener. The Cloud Gardner inspires a new generation of urban gardeners and encourages urban residents to maximise their unique growing spaces like balcony gardens. To promote the benefits to urban wildlife, biodiversity and mental health. Discover more about the Cloud Gardener and their story here.

You will also have the opportunity to hear from urban developers who are looking to incorporate more sustainable features into the urban landscape

After the project, your garden will have a continued life at a residence on campus where you can monitor its impacts on biodiversity.
