'Re Do Your Denim' with Stitched Up

14th February 14:00 to 16:00
Don’t chuck your holey jeans - mend them better! Drop-in for 2 minutes, 2 hours or any time in between. Beginner friendly. All equipment and material will be provided but feel free to bring your own denim!
Welcome to Faculty of Science and Engineering Enrichment! Bespoke activities that enrich your student experience and support your career readiness. Opportunities that make you stand out from the crowd.

Join Stitched Up for a drop-in workshop using patching and embroidery techniques and taking inspiration from Japanese Sashiko stitching, we’ll help you to create visible mends that are unique and fabulous.

This is a hand stitch workshop. You will learn a variety of different embroidery stitches and weaving techniques to embellish a mesh material base and securely sew up the pocket pouch.

Alongside our workshop we will be discussing ideas for reducing textile and clothing waste through community-level reuse, upcycling solutions or campaign groups. With information about our opportunities at Stitched Up and how to get involved.
