Public Histories of Islam in Britain
Week 1 Meeting: Introduction to the MCPHH and the project – We will talk about what the MCPHH does, the way it promotes history in public, and what mediums are available to showcase history. We will also discuss the topic of Islam in Britain, and think about what you may specifically want to focus on. After the meeting you will think of an idea to research, and what medium you would like to use to showcase your final piece.
Week 2 Meeting: This meeting will discuss your chosen idea and any research that you have engaged with. We will think about what next steps need to be taken with your research. We will also discuss the medium that you are thinking of using for your final piece e.g. a blog, podcast or some other form.
Week 3 Meeting: By this point you will have moved forward with research in to your chosen topic, and will start to think about what the research will look like once it has been published. Any progress made so far will be discussed, reviewed and edited.
Week 4 Meeting: You should be getting close to finalising your piece by this point. We will think about final edits that need to be made, and how we will publish your work through the MCPHH.
The exact timings of the work is flexible. We will figure out times that work for everyone for meetings.
