Play and Outdoor Learning

15th June 10:00 to 16:30
In Person Practical Workshop - Please note that there are two dates available for this workshop and therefore you will only need to attend one.

Through this one-day course, you will explore further the ways in which play and outdoor learning is essential to the Early Years. You will experience a practical introduction to the following areas:

  • Recognise how to encourage essential physical fitness through group activities that utilise outdoor areas and resources.
  • Take part in some early years’ specific activities, and work together as a group to align learning outcomes with each activity.
  • Cook on a fire, and discuss how this could be managed in the setting.
  • Identify how to support emotional wellbeing and develop social skills, through games and activities.
  • Take part in activities designed to enhance team building and problem-solving skills.

You will also be encouraged to reflect on the activities and your own practice, throughout the session.

Light refreshments will be provided, but participants will need to bring their own lunch.

Note that this activity will take place in a local school (map here) – and two days are available for you to choose from.
