Planted Not Buried
“Planted Not Buried,” is an interdisciplinary site-specific performance installation. This project pays homage to the city’s rich history, weaving past narratives from the Arts and Humanities building, once a location for the 5th Pan-African Congress in 1945, with present-day voices.
Join Tolu Ami-Williams for a site-specific workshop on May 24th at 4pm at the Poetry Library (We will proceed to the workshop studio from there). At the workshop, you will participate in the creation process of the final performance outcome, developing rhythmic sound installations and contributing literal and metaphorical footprints to the legacy of Manchester.
This project is a platform to transcend barriers of race, gender, culture, class, and age. The workshop welcomes everyone, regardless of skill. Come to connect, engage, and perhaps even discover a new way to play with materials and objects.
