Logistics coordinator Required for Rise Summit Event

26th November to 4th December
The Rise summit is a large scale event and we are looking for students to support and co-produce the event with us. Could you be part of the Summit team?

Hours Expected:
8 Hours per week
(Rise Points will be available to claim once role is completed)

About the Rise Summit
The Rise Summit is a student focussed event taking place several times per year, with an anticipated audience of 100+. The December event will focus on themes of self-brand, with speakers exploring their own or their businesses brand and how they have evolved their brand. The Summit typically takes the structure of two speakers, one panel discussion of 3 to 5 panellists and one keynote presentation. There will be some pre-event meeting attendance required, as well as event attendance on the day (possibly in person, tbc) to live-report the event.

Responsibilities:

Pre-event:
– Support the production manager to understand the technical requirements of the event and co-ordinate with the technical team those requirements.
– Support production and technical meetings, including tech and dress rehearsals, thereby ensuring that all technical elements of the event are considered and worked through before the event.
– Consider stage set and scenery, including sourcing furniture and stage dressing that suit the Rise brand.
– Work with the production manager to produce event plans, the event manual, risk assessments and method statements to a high standard and work with the university Return To Campus team to ensure that risks are thoroughly considered.
– Work with the production manager to support the speakers, event marketing team and content management team.
– Research costs and support the production manager to keep the budget up to date.

At the event:
– Support the coordination of the event.
– Participate in a behind the scenes channel in case speakers need to reach communicate.
– Watch and participate in the event.

– Excellent oral and written communication.
– Ability to write creatively, clearly and concisely.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver objectives.
– Ability to use initiative, creativity and judgement.
– Attention to detail.
– Excellent observational and analytical skills, able to quickly understand the colleagues’ needs and turn into practical solutions.
– Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
