I AM THE BUILDING: psychogeography and visual journaling of the MMU estate

28th May 11:00 to 14:00
Join artist and poet Josef Minta on a psychogeography tour of the MMU estate.

Join artist and poet Josef Minta on a psychogeography tour of the MMU estate. On this guided walk you will have the opportunity to engage with these unique buildings in a new and interesting way, giving you a toolkit with which to explore any space, place or experience. A great opportunity for visual artists, writers, performers, architects, geographers or anyone with an interest in the urban environment to see the spaces around us in new way. This is also a chance to explore what it means to be part of a university and how being part of a large institution impacts on experiences of the city and wider understanding of the self. You will have a chance to contribute to a wider discussion about the history and legacy of the University at this pivotal 200 year mark, while developing and sharing personal reflections on your lived experience as a student.

Responses created during this session will feed in to work Josef is creating for this years’ Manchester History Festival as part of the “It started with a seed” project.
