Future Me Game Jam

23rd January to 26th January
Take part in the Department of Computing and Mathematics Game Jam as part of this year's Future Me Week!
This activity is offered as part of Future Me Week - five days of exciting opportunities to develop your skills, deepen understanding, gain experience and take steps towards an exciting Future You.

During this year’s Future Me Week, the Department of Computing and Mathematics are excited to be hosting a dedicated Game Jam! The Game Jam is open to all students in the Department of Computing and Mathematics with an interest in making games, whether you’re an undergraduate or a postgraduate student.

The Game Jam takes place over the course of three days:

  • On Tuesday, you’ll have the opportunity to meet other students, find out what the theme is, and start designing your team’s game.
  • On Thursday, you’ll develop and build your team’s game using tools of your choice.
  • On Friday, we’ll celebrate the work of all the teams and award prizes and certificates!

Game Jams are a great way for you to meet other people, build your confidence, and develop your problem solving, team working, and communication skills. You can bring your own team along to the Game Jam, or, for anyone who doesn’t have a team we’ll run some team-forming activities on the first day to help you find some new friends to work with.

Game Jams are open to participants of all skill levels, and even if you don’t feel confident in your skills everyone will have something to contribute. It’s also a great way to learn from your peers and find out how different people’s skills come together to create a game!
