February Festival (Psychology Dept): Sustainable Psychology

28th February 14:00 to 15:00
Have your say - how do you think Psychology can help us toward a more sustainable future? During this discussion, students (and staff) will have the opportunity to be part of launching a staff-student sustainability group in Psychology (with the aim to feed this into the Faculty of Health and Education)
February Festival

An offer for Psychology students only.

The one hour Sustainable Psychology session provides a space for staff and students to get involved in launching a new staff-student sustainability group.

The session will begin with an introduction to the importance of sustainability in all areas of Psychology, and we will discuss our personal and professional responsibility and influence.

Next, we will start to consider what is meant by a staff-student sustainability group. Here you will have the opportunity to have your say on the purpose and aims of this group, and be a part of it’s launch in Psychology, with a future aim to open this up to the Faculty of Health and Education.

So far, our vision for the group is to involve both students and staff in the planning of:

  • the embedment of education for sustainable development in programmes / courses
  • research around sustainability
  • talks, events and activities
  • staff and student responsibilities, actions and pledges

… but this is just an idea! We want you to have your say, so that we can work together to create an impactful and passionate group who will help us on the path towards a more sustainable future.
