February Festival (Psychology Dept): Meet the Therapy Dog: Human Animal Interaction for Wellbeing

Come and meet a real therapy dog in training! With an interactive discussion about the history, uses, and experiences of human-animal interaction for mental health and wellbeing.

An offer for Psychology students only.

Dr Leanne Rimmer will be co-facilitating this session with her therapy dog*. We will also be joined by Dr Andrew Stevenson, who will discuss his personal and research experience of human-animal interaction.

Please note: This session involves the presence of and interaction with a real dog. Do not sign up to this session if you have allergies to dogs. Please also do not sign up if you have anxiety/phobia of dogs.

Students will be asked to sign a consent form/waiver before interacting with the therapy animal.

*The therapy animal is a puppy and still in training, so please be patient with her whilst she is learning
