Engineering Workshop Training - Hardness testing

18th October 14:00 to 17:00
Engineering training workshops are your chance to come along and get training and experience on a variety of machines and devices. These workshops are open to students from any subject or level and are a great way to find out how the engineering workshop facilities may be able to help you with your own studies or activities.

You will be taught to use the Hardness testing devices in. These devices test a materials resistance to indentation – specifically, the size and shape of a damaged area that is left after a set force is used to push an indenter of pre-defined shape. This session is for anyone interested in material characterisation (including biological ones)

Details will be share on the DoE Moodle Page – Course: Department Of Engineering Students (, for you to refer back to after the workshop – or shared via onedrive after the workshop, for those without access to moodle to download and store.
