Carbon Literacy Training for Staff and Students (Webinar Series)

17th April to 24th April
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Climate Crisis - how it works and how we can combat it in our personal and professional lives.

Important – please do not sign up for this webinar series without reading this description full.

About the Course

This course will give you a comprehensive overview of climate change: the basic science behind it, its drivers and impacts, as well as an understanding of the actions required by individuals, communities, and organisations to avoid the worst impacts and set us on a path to a sustainable future. The activities are highly discussion-based and there will be ample opportunity to ask questions and share ideas.

After the training you will have the opportunity to apply for a Carbon Literacy certificate by demonstrating your knowledge of the necessary steps to achieve a zero-carbon world, as well making two pledges โ€“ one individual and one group โ€“ to actions that reduce your own and othersโ€™ carbon footprints.

This training is split over two half-days and you must attend both days in full to be eligible for a certificate. If you are not available for either session, we suggest you check the other Carbon Literacy training opportunities available on Rise.

Important Disclaimer for Students:

Carbon Literacy is now offered as a standard part of many degree programmes; the extracurricular training you are currently looking at is primarily aimed at those who do not have the opportunity to take the training through their course. Before signing up to this Rise event, you should contact your Programme Leader to find out if Carbon Literacy training is planned as part of your degree. You are responsible for checking this; if you do not, you may end up having to repeat the training โ€“ consider yourself warned! ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you have any additional learning requirements, please contact us as soon as you are able, at so we can determine how to best support you in undertaking this training.
