Aspiring Teachers - Meet our Alumni
Thinking about teaching or working in education? This is a great chance to come and hear from Manchester Met alumni about their experiences and get the chance to network with them over some pizza, cake and drinks.
Hearing from alumni gives you the chance to find out anything you'd like about what it's like to go into teaching. You'll have a chance to ask any questions you'd like and build your professional network.
The session will be split with the first half being question and answers with our alumni before giving you the chance to meet them informally with a networking session.
Confirmed Alumni Speakers:
Azee Ahmed - After finishing my Bachelors in 2018, I embarked on continuing my passion for travelling and teaching by going to live in various countries to teach, Nepal in which I worked on agricultural project whilst teaching. Then France, working for an NGO there Help Refugees (Choose love). Providing help for displaced people from various parts of the world. Using this experience, I then went back to Manchester Metropolitan University, to complete my PGCE graduating in 2021, as a qualified teacher. I then moved to Lebanon to work as a social media coordinator and teacher for (SalamLADC). Teaching refugee children and adults, residing in Lebanon from Syria and Palestine.
Teaching can take you into many places and my advice for future students who would like to get into the profession is, to not limit the possibilities after graduation. Over the last year I have been working for two school’s supporting both SEN needs and in a mainstream setting in the UK.
