Africa Fashion Week London - Paid Digital Marketing Internship

An amazing opportunity for a PAID work placement with Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL). AFWL is Europe’s largest fashion event promoting and nurturing African and African-inspired design talent.

**Please note this is only open to L5 and Level 6 students on the BA Fashion Marketing programme**

Do you have experience in digital marketing? Can you create a strategy for a brand using market research theory and steps learnt from your degree course? Can you plan and manage a social campaign utilizing the software introduced in the Digital Marketing Unit? Can you create engaging socials content for a global fashion movement with the clear objective of driving sales and engagement?

An amazing opportunity for a PAID work placement with Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL). AFWL is Europe’s largest fashion event promoting and nurturing African and African-inspired design talent. With a collaborative catwalk in London, Brazil and Nigeria, exhibition, and business development programme, AFWL has led the way in highlighting Africa’s emerging designers and apparel industry and has been at the forefront of bringing awareness of Africa’s burgeoning fashion industry to the international market. 

In this placement, you will work collaboratively with the AFWL team to decide on the branding direction for marketing content, ensuring alignment with the brand’s overall strategy. You will create a content plan calendar for the most appropriate social media platforms and be responsible for scheduling and posting content daily. Your role will include writing engaging captions, managing the online community by responding to comments, and editing reels and clips from previous shows for content. Additionally, you will post daily stories and edit reels from clips collected by the business owner, using a library of photos to create static posts. This placement offers hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, and branding.

The opportunity is for one L5 or L6 BA Fashion Marketing student. The successful student will utilise skills and theory learnt in the Digital Marketing Unit and the Global Consumer Unit for the BA Fashion Marketing programme.

1.    Applications are open to L5 and Level 6 students on the BA Fashion Marketing programme. We encourage applications from Black, brown and mixed students, although this is not a prerequisite. Applications will be judged on passion for the role.

2.    We will be looking at expressions of interest that detail your suitability for role, aligned skills with the project requirements and passion for the project and what you can bring to the project. In addition provide any links to curriculum digital portfolio or CV.
