Peer Cinema Series Presents: Frances Ha - 31st March - 4.30pm-7pm G.12 SODA Building
This event comprises a screening of a selection of films that will be interesting to explore through an academic lens.
Each film in the series includes an introduction by a member of Manchester Met staff from the Psychology and Humanities/ Film Studies courses.
We have a bonus Easter screening for the Peer Cinema Series, and we will be director Noah Baumbach and writer, Greta Gerwig’s (of Barbie fame) ‘Frances Ha’, (IMDB: Frances Ha (2012) – IMDb).
The film will be introduced by Peer Guide and BA (Hons) English and Film student, Jaden Peake, and will discuss rejection of the male gaze, pressures of womanhood, and the value of homosocial female friendships. The event should end no later than 7pm.
Post-film discussion amongst staff and students will as always, be encouraged to help to digest the themes of the film!
