Fintech 2026: Agentic AI, Digital Assets, and the Death of Traditional Banking?
Detail
The Banking Revolution of 2026
The financial landscape is no longer just “going digital”—it is becoming intelligent. This session explores how traditional UK-listed firms and global giants are racing to adopt “composable architectures” to survive the disruption caused by fintech hyperscalers.
What You Will Discover
Students will examine the transition from legacy core systems to API-led, event-driven connectivity. We will discuss the “Death of Information Asymmetry,” where AI tools give consumers the same analytical power as professional traders. You will explore real-world 2026 trends and how “Embedded Finance” is placing banking services inside everything from your shopping cart to your social media feed.
Why It Matters to You
Whether you are aiming for a career in banking, data science, or entrepreneurship, understanding these “frontier” technologies is essential. You will learn how the role of the banker is evolving into a manager of AI teams and why Regulatory Technology (RegTech) is the new frontline of financial stability. This activity bridges the gap between academic theory and the rapidly moving 2026 market, ensuring you enter the workforce with the vocabulary and insights of a fintech innovator.
