Future Now – Panel 4: GALLERY AND MUSEUM CONNECTIONS

16th March 16:00 to 18:00
Learn about galleries, museums and creative institutions, and the opportunities, support and employment they can offer. Find out about programmes for artists, and potential employment in curatorial, education, public programming, visitor experience, and beyond.

The Future Now series of events run through February and March 2026. They provide an opportunity for current students to look toward possible choices, strategies, and opportunities they might consider as they progress on from their current studies.

For this fourth panel event, representatives of galleries, museums and cultural institutions around Manchester will share the opportunities they offer. Institutions including The Whitworth, The Lowry, Castlefield Gallery, HOME and Manchester Art Gallery will be represented, sharing opportunities in which artists might become involved. Galleries and museums such as these, and the exhibitions and events they host, can be valuable nodes for connections and community while sustaining a practice post-Art School. They often have offerings specifically for young artists, as well as employment opportunities in education, public programming, curatorial, visitor experience, and beyond. Following panellists’ presentations, there will be time for questions and discussion.
