What is a green job? - Finding your role in the greener future

What does it mean to have a green job? To build a sustainable future we need everyone in all careers to be working in the same direction. Explore these ideas and find your own green career path in this workshop.
This activity is offered as part of Future Me Week - five days of exciting opportunities to develop your skills, deepen understanding, gain experience and take steps towards an exciting Future You.

If you are passionate about sustainability then finding a career that has a positive impact on the world can seem like a real challenge.

The ideal ‘Green Job’ can seem very hard to find, be very competitive, and might not fit your personal circumstances or ambitions. In this session we want to explore what we mean when we talk about ‘Green Jobs’ and consider new ways of thinking about this term.

To reach a sustainable future we need to change almost every aspect of our society and industry. The good news is that this means whatever skills, knowledge, or interests you have there is a place in the Green Job market for you! We also need sustainably minded people in every kind of job to help steer companies and industries towards a greener future.

That all means that you don’t have to find a green job, it’s up to you to find a job and make it green!
