The hidden job market: How to apply when there’s no job advert
This session will explain how to make speculative applications – contacting employers about roles that aren’t advertised. You will learn how to identify opportunities using LinkedIn, social media, personal networks, and smart search techniques. It covers how to tailor messages, highlight transferable skills, and build confidence.
The session also addresses handling rejection, following up, and staying resilient. You’ll be encouraged to reflect on your strengths and consider alternative experiences like internships or volunteering to build relevant skills and stay motivated in your career journey.
Accessibility: We are committed to making this event as inclusive as possible. Find out more about the building and room on the Building Access Map.
