English for International Students: Results section

19th March 10:30 to 12:00
This is the third session in this series of stand alone morning online offers. Support sessions designed to support international students and non-native speakers with their academic English. This activity is particularly for the International Student Body or those who have English as a second language.

This week our focus will be on writing up your results.

The Language Centre provides these sessions for any international or non-native speaking students currently enrolled at the University. The lessons are to support you and are not assessed, require no preparation and involve no homework.

This semester we’re providing sessions which focus chiefly on dissertation writing. We will cover writing the literature review, the methodology, the results and discussion sections and abstracts, introductions and conclusions. The contexts are not discipline specific and explore and provide practice in areas which should be relevant to most students engaged in study.

You can expect to be working in an informal and collaborative way with the session’s tutors and your peers, so in addition to developing academic English skills you’ll have lots of opportunities to interact and speak with others.

Each week students have the opportunity to come to either a morning or afternoon online session.

The afternoon session can be found here

You will need to book on for each session you are interested in. Sessions will be available to book a week in advance.
