What is language? What is culture?

7th March 11:00 to 12:00
Explore our understanding of language & culture in playful and exciting ways...
This activity is offered as part of Go Global - an exciting set of activities, allowing students to engage in an international experience. Are you having problems signing up to this event? Email GGW6@mmu.ac.uk and we will try to fix the issue for you.

Considering a career in teaching, journalism, business, tourism or translation? Name a career that does not deal with language and culture. These words sound familiar, too familiar that we think we know what they mean.

Join Dr Khawla Badwan (Reader in Applied Linguistics in the Department of Languages, Information and Communications) as she facilitates an interactive workshop that is all about making our understandings of language and culture more complex in exciting ways. She will work with you to explore the distribution of language and the construction of culture in our everyday lives.
