Cultural Storytelling through Puppetry Workshop

3rd March 14:00 to 16:00
Discover the behind the scenes work that goes into professional puppet construction and gain hands-on experience with building puppets from sustainable materials. GoGlobal in your future ambitions.

Following the exclusive debut university performance of OYA, an afro-fantasy musical written and performed by actor and singer Jordan Charles in the Dalton Building Atrium, now join Jordan and award winning master puppeteer Carolene Yawa Ada behind the scenes. Learn how to make your own puppets with sustainable materials and use them to tell stories from your history, family or culture.

In this workshop you will discover what goes into constructing professional puppets for stage shows and how they can be powerful tools for communicating our cultural stories. You will also get to build your own puppets from sustainable materials.

If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact sefse@mmu.ac.uk in the first instance.
