Prompt Engineering for GenAI

21st January 14:00 to 16:00
The main objective of the workshop is AI literacy, from the perspective of an end user of Large Language Models (LLMs) such as Copilot (Chat-GPT) and other generative tools.
This activity is offered as part of Future Me Week - five days of exciting opportunities to develop your skills, deepen understanding, gain experience and take steps towards an exciting Future You.

The agenda of the workshop is as follows:

  • Introduction to AI and LLMs
  • Prompt Engineering Frameworks
  • Standard Practices LLMs
  • Diffusion Models

“Why Prompt Engineering Matters:

  • Optimized Outputs: Good prompts yield excellent results. By mastering prompt engineering, we can fine-tune AI models to comprehend nuanced queries and produce coherent, contextually relevant content. Whether it’s generating text, images, or code, the quality of our prompts directly impacts the quality of AI-generated outputs.
  • Reduced Bias: Crafting specific prompts allows us to control and interpret AI-generated content. By minimizing biases in data collection and analysis, we ensure fairness and accuracy in our AI systems.
  • Time Efficiency: Well-constructed prompts reduce the need for manual review and post-generation editing. This efficiency translates to saved time and effort in achieving desired outcomes.
  • Workplace Relevance: As we move toward a future where AI permeates every aspect of our professional lives, prompt engineering will be a critical skill. Whether you’re a researcher, developer, or decision-maker, proficiency in prompt engineering will empower you to leverage AI effectively and achieve better outcomes.”

By the end of this workshop, you will understand how generative AI works and learn to use prompt engineering frameworks to effectively utilise these tools.
