St John Ambulance - Mental Health Awareness
Manchester Met is working with St John Ambulance to deliver this exclusive wellbeing and mental health training for students.
A note about mental health first aid. This course covers subjects that some people may find distressing, including suicide and self-harm. If you feel overwhelmed by the course content, you may leave the course at any time.
There will be 4 dates across semester one delivered by St John Ambulance, exclusively for students across the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Please keep an eye on the Rise platform for these dates if this booking is full.
The training session enhances your understanding of what mental health is, common conditions, stigmas and protective factors.
This 3-hour course demonstrates how to communicate in an empathetic manner and put this into practice with realistic case studies and practical activities.
You will gain your mental health certificate from St John Ambulance for full attendance. There is a comfort break. There is no assessment.
