Here at Rise, we are huge fan of volunteering and the experience it gives you. Summer is a staggering time to do some volunteering as it’s the perfect thing to do to pass the empty hours of summer. Entering the volunteering world may seem difficult thing to get started on, but don’t worry! Rise has commissioned a Self Study Pack on Volunteering and Service learning, that will take you through ways get started with volunteering, and which unlocks a variety of volunteering opportunities across Greater Manchester. By completing the self study pack, you’ll earn a Bronze Civics Badge which evidences your proficiency and knowledge on the theme. You’ll also gain 50 Rise Points, 10 more than any of our other self study packs!
Gaining this badge also unlocks a volunteering and service learning search engine that will make it easy for you to find opportunities that align to your ambitions. Whether you’re in Manchester or a different address for the summer, you’ll find something meaningful and exciting to do. Planting Stories – Garden Volunteer
Day to day up keep of the planters including; Watering, pruning and monitoring the plants. The Science and Industry Museum is currently going through a transformative period of building conservation and gallery refresh project work that includes: The Power Hall (upper yard), The 1830s Warehouse and the 1830s Station Building. As part of these projects we have installed garden planters around the museum to help us tell the story of this unique museum site.

Pride Parade Volunteer
akt are looking for Pride Parade Volunteers. Pride is a celebration of the full rainbow spectrum of the diverse LGBTQ+ community, a chance to connect with the community, and to stand up for the rights of all LGBTQ+ people. The responsibility of our pride team at the parade is to have fun! The Parade is your time to shine.

Fundraising Volunteer
As a Volunteer Fundraiser, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with your local community by placing and collecting collection tins, distributing posters, and building relationships with businesses to support our cause. Your efforts will directly contribute to providing a safe home for vulnerable teenage girls in Manchester. We may also request your support at local fundraising events and occasions.
