Hallé Hackathon - Student Facilitators
Hallé Hackathon – Student Facilitators
Saturday 20th April and Sunday 21st April 2024
11am – 4pm
We’re seeking student facilitators to help run a two-day hackathon at Hallé Orchestra in Ancoats Manchester on Saturday 20th April and Sunday 21st April 2024.
The Hallé holds an archive of their 165 year history of the musical organisation, including a newly searchable online database containing over 40,000 listings of individual works, artists, soloists, concert halls and much more from 1858 to 1990. The hackathon is a two-day event where teams will seek out ways of creatively navigating the history of the Hallé – to mine and extract data that uncovers the untold stories and histories from within the Hallé’s archive.
Ideal candidates will have an academic background related to Computer Science and will be confident in supporting others with basic programming questions such as, setting up a database, downloading and setting up a working environment and where to get help for errors.
You should also either have previous experience in facilitating an event, such as a Hackathon, or be able to express why you have a strong desire to gain the skills in facilitating a hackathon that are offered through this Rise role.
