Design and Deliver STEM outreach with The Blair Project
The Blair Project is a trailblazing social enterprise based in Manchester which taps into the climate change activism of urban youth, by providing opportunities for them to participate in the green tech revolution. They cover topics like sustainability, engineering and the importance of STEM subjects and promote these themes to young people. They have an especially exciting area of expertise in EV go-kart design!
During this project you will get the experience of delivering a STEM outreach activity to young people along side the Blair Project. You will then get a chance to design your own activity and deliver this as part of the National Saturday Club at Man Met.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a ground-breaking social enterprise and get real experience with STEM outreach. Science communication skills are vital to encourage themes of sustainability and the role of technology in this to the public. Strong outreach and communication skills are in high-demand in almost every industry or research area so this is a fantastic opportunity to develop them and have fun doing it!
