Featured Artist Brief – Welcome Home to Manchester
We invite student artists to submit up to ten images to be considered for publication in our latest print magazine – The FRESHERS Issue 23/24. Fine artists of all practices welcome, illustrators, photographers and graphic designers. Send us a brief bio and explanation of how your work relates to the “Welcome Home to Manchester” theme.
This special mini issue of aAh! will feature a guide to all Manchester has to offer. We will shine a spotlight on the freshest spots in our city and serve up budget-friendly recipes, share advice, opportunities and experiences. Packed with tips and tricks to help new and returning students navigate university life, The FRESHERS Issue will be essential reading for all looking to get the most of their time studying in the best city in the world.
To celebrate thousands of new students preparing to make Manchester their home this September, we invite all creatives to response to the theme: Welcome Home to Manchester.
Eligibility
All Manchester Met students and alumni are invited to contribute to aAh! Magazine. Artists and designers are welcome to submit works in any medium: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, textile, installation, any mixed media, digital, performance and film (jpg still image and a link to video) etc. All visual art mediums are welcome. Submit your visual work in a digital format in the highest possible resolution you have available – 300 dpi minimum required)
Visual Guidelines
We will accept work and visuals in JPEG, PNG or TIFF formats. Artwork must be at least 300 dpi or more. All artwork must be at least 148 x 210 mm to fit in the A5 size magazine, and should fit comfortably on a page of this aspect ratio.
Our Featured Artists work will be published in The FRESHERS Issue 23/24 alongside a range of features, interviews, profiles, previews, opinion and more.

aAh! is a well established arts and culture magazine and online platform run by student volunteers with a passion for journalism and a love for Manchester. It is honest, engaging and curious; a trusted source for relevant news, views, creative work and current news and trends.
We aim to provide a safe and supportive space in which students volunteers can be creative and have their voices heard, while boosting their confidence – and CV – with skills in journalism, publishing, design, social media and more.
