YOUR JOURNEY, YOUR SKILLS
During your time at Manchester Met you’ll encounter a range of experiences that will provide you with the opportunity for skills development. Being able to understand the skills you’ve gained from these experience and being able to articulate them enables you to become the best version of yourself.
In this course, we will look at a range of opportunities you may encounter during your studies and together we’ll review how you can best describe, promote, and use these newfound skills when it comes to preparing for your future.
The work experience that you do doesn’t have to have directly related to your degree, or even your planned future career pathway in order to be relevant and transformative. Discovering what you don’t want to do is just as important as uncovering what you do want. This self-study pack will guide you through those opportunities and encourage you to embrace uncertainty in your journey.
Throughout this course you’ll be guided through how to understand and identify the talents and skills you’ve developed from all your experiences, including your studies, part-time jobs, and even your hobbies.
You can work through this pack at your own pace. Whether you’re just starting out or whether you’ve been trying out lots of different things already, you can always learn something from this content. Learn from expert voices and build your confidence to succeed.
This is your journey, this is your life, and these are your skills.
Some of the content in this self-study pack is brought to you by Stefanie Sword-Williams from F*ck Being Humble. Stef’s content will be highlighted throughout in ‘Stefs thoughts‘ sections.
