Knowing what resources and information are available will help you to develop your knowledge of early language development. This will be especially useful in considering interactions with young children throughout the rest of this unit and beyond into your own personal and/or professional lives.
This activity will help you to locate useful information to support your increasing awareness of speech, language and communication in young children. This will support your completion of the assessment task for the unit and links directly to the learning outcome for this week. It will develop useful resources for you beyond this course.
Stop and Reflect:
Find a website
Spend some time surfing the web to identify 2 websites which present information about speech, language and communication developmental milestones. At least one needs to be a UK website. Activity 2 will state what you need to do once you’ve identified your websites.
