Introduce: Task 2

Identifying milestones

Professionals working with young children need to understand what is expected in terms of speech, language and communication skills at different ages.  Having an understanding of what happens and when helps them to identify whether additional support may be needed if children are not following typical milestones.

This activity will help you to find specific information about speech, language and communication milestones in relation to children’s ages.  You will find this an essential skill for completion of the assessment for this unit.

To be updated

Using one of the websites you chose last week, you will need to identify what speech, language and communication skills would be expected for children aged 2;06 years, 3;0 years and 3;06 years. Use the template below to record your ideas.
