Introduce: Task 2

Key components of speech, language and communication

In order to identify parts of speech, language and communication in children’s interactions, we first need to know more about some of these individual aspects.

This short article will introduce some of the key aspects of speech, language and communication development.  This will help you to understand how young children begin to develop their speech, language and communication skills and links directly to this week’s learning objective (LO1: Identify speech, language and communication milestones and their variations in children).

Read the Speech, language and communication article carefully. Make notes of any specific components of speech language and communication which are mentioned.
