Develop: Task 3

Positive interaction strategies

In order to support children’s speech, language and communication skills, professionals working with children need to be able to identify positive interaction strategies and use these in interactions with children.

This activity will enable you to demonstrate your critical appraisal skills of an adult-child interaction in terms of facilitating speech, language and communication development.

To be updated

  • Using the template below, identify 2 things that worked well in the interaction in terms of the adult supporting the child’s speech, language and communication development.
  • Identify at least 2 points that you would change or develop in order for the adult to better support the child’s speech, language and communication development.
