Strategy 3: Remember that information on its own won’t change people’s mind or behaviour

When we feel very passionate about a topic such as climate change, it is easy to start lecturing friends and family about this. However, statements such as: “We have already passed the safe level of COconcentrations in the atmosphere!!” and” Polar bear are giving birth to fewer cubs because of sea ice decline!!”  may not make people change their mind, or take action on climate change. If people don’t think that what you are saying is relevant to their lives, they will screen out any information you are trying to give to them. Try to create a setting in which they are willing to listen.
