Strategy 2: Adapt your message to your audience

People will respond differently to the same message. Use a language that suits your audience and frame what you are saying in terms of their interests.

For example, when speaking to your employer, you would use a formal language.  Their main interests are likely to be cost savings, risks and reputation of the business so you would need to tailor your message around this. They would probably switch off if you spoke about polar bears and saving the planet (whilst children would be more likely to engage with those messages).
