Previous pregnancy complications

In this section you will learn about previous pregnancy complications (mental health including men and pregnancy related).

Dads and partners also need support during the postnatal period as discussed in a previous section.  The focus of attention is usually on the baby and the mother postnatally and many partners feel neglected and may not understand the role that they can play.

If they have their own anxiety or mental health concerns they may feel reluctant to discuss these.

Further information about support for partners and resources are discussed in an earlier section.  But a role we all have when supporting families in the early years is to include partners in the discussions to keep them involved and informed.
