Prepare: Task 1

This week we will introduce you to the first unit of Languages in the community. You will focus on one of the most popular languages in the area, Urdu, and on the difference between multilingualism, bilingualism, their advantages and challenges. You will also be encouraged to reflect upon how this relates to your own language experience.

By completing this activity, you will be introduced to what bilingualism is and the different types. You will also be introduced to what some experts say about the advantages and challenges of being bilingual and about the reasons for code-switching.
