Within this course, you will start from the beginning of the cycle and cover the impact and importance of pre-birth and the early days of childhood. The first 1001 days, starting in pregnancy, is the crucial time for baby’s development. Here, you will also evaluate the importance of the mother’s health and wellbeing.
Aside from taught content and readings, you will have the opportunity to explore real case studies of innovative practice. Examining these case studies will allow you to zoom in on baby’s development during pregnancy, mother’s health and wellbeing, birth, parenting and interactions in the home.
By the end of this course, you will have a portfolio to show and to prove that you understand the importance of supporting individuals’ identities and recognising power relations when supporting children, families, and communities.
