Introduce: Task 3

This week we will introduce you to the first of our ‘languages of Greater Manchester’: Urdu. Urdu is the most popular community language in Manchester: there are 10,005 Urdu books, and 6497 Urdu speaking pupils according to Manchester University’s.

By completing this activity you will be introduced to some basic vocabulary which you can use when communicating with an Urdu speaker. You will also begin to understand the relationship between the Urdu and English language, and how that impacts communication.
