Introduce: Task 1

Introduce: Task 1

This week we will focus on how to communicate effectively across language barriers.

So far, we have focussed a lot on the barriers that exist, but we need to consider what we can do to overcome these barriers and enhance communication. We will iIdentify verbal /non-verbal communication strategies to navigate across cultures in multilingual spaces.

We will introduce you to the fourth of our ‘languages of Greater Manchester’: Bengali.

Assessment focus 4-  Analysing examples: The strengths and weaknesses of artefacts

For your assessment for this course, you will be asked to create an artifact which can be used to relay information about how to overcome language barriers in a setting of your choice.

Strengths and Weaknesses

It’s important to be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of other artifacts to better analyse your own. Using the template provided work through looking at other artifacts to identify strengths and weaknesses.
