The impact of speech, language and communication difficulties

Considering the wider impact of a child’s speech, language and communication skills on typical activities helps us to consider whether they are able to take an active role in what’s happening in their lives. 

In completing this activity, you will be able to consider the impact of speech, language and communication difficulties on children’s everyday activities.  This links to this week’s learning objective and prepares you for beginning to consider how best to support children.   

Think about each of the children whose videos you have just watched.  Consider what impact their difficulties might have in different scenarios. Use the template below to make some brief notes as you watch and then share some of your thoughts with the rest of the group using the padlet below.
