Example Foundation courses for Counselling and Psychotherapy (both fields are usually combined at this level): University of Salford Graduate Certificate in Counselling, Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
Local postgraduate courses: University of Salford Counselling and Psychotherapy. View Findamasters for national and international courses. Please note that Postgraduate Diploma is usually sufficient to gain an accredited qualification in Counselling. A Postgraduate Diploma is a ‘level 7’ further study course without a dissertation. Should you choose to do a dissertation, you would gain the full ‘level 7’ Masters of Science (MSc) title. Dissertation projects are extremely valuable should you wish to go onto a Doctorate (to become a Psychologist) or a PhD.
