Your Future Me Group

You’re not on your own for this! You’ve been assigned to a group with a bunch of other folk who are equally amazing and talented as you. Your group is your superpower. You’re pretty much the avengers.

We want you to get to know your group and lay the foundations for a brilliant week together. Go on – do it now! Really! Hit the link below, open up your teams chat and say hi …

[rise_dt_teamslink]Your group’s Teams chat is here.[/rise_dt_teamslink]

The first time you click on this link you may find that no-one else has joined at the same time as you. Don’t worry! Leave a message and keep an eye on the chat for when others join you. If you find that people still haven’t joined and you want to get going, feel free to join another team with members of your course by asking them to share a teams link with you.

The course content has also been designed in such a way to be completed on your own as well if you cannot find a group, but we’d really recommend making the effort to bring your group together. Throughout the week, you’ll need to work with your team on activities we’ve structured for you. We’ve scheduled meetings for you online in your timetable – but as long as you meet at some point each day, you’re welcome to do it at another time or to meet up on campus. We’ll trust you to sort that bit out.

If you have tried to contact your group but have not heard anything, please visit our troubleshooting page here which will help you to find a group to work with.

OPTIONAL

If you think you have been assigned to the wrong group please contact the Future Me team by emailing futuremeweek@mmu.ac.uk. Please note that groupings in many subjects are deliberately set up to get you working with new people!

OPTIONAL

Remember, it’s up to you to make your group work. We’ve put together some guidance to get you started:

Okay, what next?

  • Right, make initial contact with your group. You can reach them on the Teams link above. Get to know each other, and perhaps plan when and how you might communicate during the week itself.
  • Think about your problem brief. Take a look at it, think about it, maybe even start We’ll offer more detail at the start of the week, but it’s always good to foreground your initial thinking and your preconceptions. We’ll do a lot of work to challenge these next week, but you might have a brilliant idea that might provide a good starting point for some creative thinking.
  • Take stock of your skillset. Throughout the week there will be opportunities to use your skills in new ways, so think about the skills you’d like to use, the skills you’d like to practice and new skills that you’d like to acquire.
  • This course is a chance to do things differently and redefine yourself.
