Being Enterprising helps you to:

  • Be more creative
  • Solve problems
  • Set and achieve goals
  • Identify new ways of doing things
  • Be more resilient
  • Be more financially responsible

These are all skills which are useful during your studies and your career after university. Enterprise skills are typically associated with starting your own business, being a freelancer or self-employed, but regardless of your next steps after university, these skills will help.

If you do have your own business, freelance practice or are self-employed, or want to speak to someone about how to get started doing this, reach out to the Careers Service Enterprise Team.

Work through the competencies to find out more about what it means to be enterprising, hear from enterprising students, and to learn about the support that is available to you at the University to help you to be more enterprising.
