Data skills are becoming increasingly valued by employers. As a result, a range of degrees and careers require us to have a basic understanding of statistics to help us raise and respond to important questions. Often, we find statistics and other aspects of numeracy daunting. Therefore, this intensive is suitable for individuals who are either new to statistics or need to refresh their knowledge of statistics. This intensive utilises videos, step-by-step guides and interesting examples to help you learn about statistics. By the end of this intensive, you will be able to use Google Sheets to analyse real-world data. Our other intensives will provide you with the opportunity to learn more challenging data analysis techniques.

Dr Simon Massey is a Lecturer in Quantitative Research Methods for the Q-Step Centre at Manchester Met. Simon teaches Statistics to Undergraduate and Postgraduate social science students. His current research focuses on Children’s Attitudes to Mathematics.
