Woodland workshop with Hulme Community Garden Centre

Join us for a woodland session to help maintain and enhance this natural space on campus. Led by our local partner Hulme Community Garden Centre, you will be volunteering alongside other students and staff to learn all about woodland maintenance and wildlife.

Join us for this winter workshop to help take care take of our lovely woodland space.  

Led by our local partner Hulme Community Garden Centre, you will be volunteering alongside other students and staff to learn all about woodland maintenance. 

In this session, we’ll be focussing on hedgerow pruning, undertaking a species survey, and winter tree identification, and wood chipping the paths.  Some of the activities will be physical, involving shovels, spades and wheelbarrows.

The workshop will take place in all weather conditions. Please make sure you wear weather appropriate clothing, including suitable footwear (not open footwear allowed).

Meet our student sustainability ambassadors by the entrance to the Brooks building by 1.30pm. If after this time please head to the Woodland area (George Parr road area).
